JESIP Principles.

Module 4 of the ShowMed Mandatory suite of courses

A short training module to help registered HCP's authorised to use the GO2Vent respirator to familiarise themselves with the device

To be completed in conjunction with the Major Incident Training.  The course focuses specifically on the undated Ten Second Triage and MITT as published by NARU in April 2023

Resuscitation Level 3 for all HCP's who can not access training elsewhere and do not hold a valid RCUK certificate.

Module 7d of the ShowMed Mandatory suite of courses

This module is focussed on capacity and consent and how these are defined and assessed in the Heath care setting.

Introduction

Module 7 in the ShowMed Statutory and Mandatory Training modules. 

This module covers the topic of capacity and consent and how these are defined and assessed in the Heath care setting.  This sits  in alignment  with the UK Core Skills Training Framework V1.6

This module is completed by all patient facing staff

Key Learning Outcomes

The learner will:
2.b) be able to ensure effective advocacy is provided where required (for example where there are mental capacity or communication issues, in line with the legislation and professional guidance)

2.h)  understand key statutory and non-statutory guidance and legislation including Human Rights Act and mental capacity legislation in country of practice


Introduction

Module 3 in the ShowMed Statutory and Mandatory Training modules.

This module covers the topic of Conflict Resolution for all patient facing staff, in alignment  with the UK Core Skills Training Framework V1.6

Key Learning Outcomes

  1. explain the role of the Security Management Director and Local Security Management Specialist or their equivalent 
  2. describe the common causes of conflict and identify the different stages of conflict 
  3. learn from their own experience of conflict situations to develop strategies to reduce the opportunity for conflict in the future 
  4. describe two forms of communication 
  5. indicate the level of emphasis that can be placed on verbal and non-verbal communication during a conflict situation 
  6. understand the impact that cultural differences may have in relation to communication 
  7. identify the causes of communication break down and the importance of creating conditions for communication to succeed 
  8. utilise three communication models that would assist in dealing with different levels of conflict 
  9. recognise the behavioural pattern of individuals during conflict 
  10. recognise the warning and danger signals displayed by individuals during a conflict situation including the signs that may indicate the possibility of physical attack 
  11. identify the procedural and environmental factors affecting conflict situations and recognise their importance in decision making 
  12. understand the importance of keeping a safe distance in conflict situations 
  13. summarise the methods and actions appropriate for particular conflict situations bearing in mind that no two situations are same 
  14. explain the use of ‘reasonable force’ as described in law and its limitations and requirements 
  15. identify the range of support, both short and long-term, available to those affected by a violent incident 
  16. understand the need to provide support to those directly affected by a violent incident and the wider organisational benefits of this. 




    A course to encourage learners to consider the difference between patients who are unwell and those who are in need of urgent or emergency medical attention. TBC...…….
